Yummy side dishes for family dinners!

Maple Dill Carrots Recipe 

Maple Dill Carrots

You will need:

3 cups peeled and sliced carrots
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 ½ tablespoons chopped fresh dill
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon black pepper

Directions:

1. Place carrots in a skillet and pour in just enough water to cover.

2. With an adult helping at the stove, bring to a boil over medium heat; simmer until water has evaporated and the carrots are tender.

3. Stir in butter, brown sugar, dill, salt, and pepper.


Baked Applesauce Recipe

Baked Applesauce

You will need:

2 large tart apples, peeled and sliced
3 tablespoons white sugar
¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350° F

2. Place apples in a greased baking dish, not a pan.

3. In a small bowl, combine sugar, cinnamon and vanilla; mix well. Sprinkle over apples.

4. Cover dish and bake in preheated oven for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender.

5. It will be hot! Uncover and mash apples with a fork. Serve warm.
